Haters gonna hatePrimal Onslaught, one of the Cataclysm spells from the Lore of the Wild, is inherently useful, causing the whole army to automatically pass its Primal Fury tests and giving them Hatred, Frenzy and re-rolls to wound in melee. But perhaps the most destructive spell available to the Beastmen is Ruiner of the Wrought, which might need a mighty 30+ to cast but can topples buildings and devastate all war machines on the board.
Perhaps the finest of these from a Bretonnian perspective is a Cataclysm spell from the Lore of Beasts, Merciw's Monstrous Regiment, which doubles the Strength, Toughness and Attacks of a unit. Nasty enough on a horde of Men-at-arms, but imagine what it might do to a unit of knights.
Oblivion is a characteristically vicious spell, and is able to devastate an entire section of the enemy battleline under the right circumstances, in addition to destroying the enemy Fulcrum and hapless Wizard! Dark Elves don't pull their punches.
The Ancestor Rune of Grungni even enables a Dwarf unit to re-roll all failed To Hit rolls in close combat in addition to the Fight in Extra Ranks rules.
The Lore of Metal is potent in the hands of the Asur, with Meteoric Ironclad granting their expensive but fragile units a 2+ ward save, and Quicksilver Swords making a humble unit of Spearmen utterly deadly in conjunction with their Speed of Asuryan and Martial Prowess special rules. But remember, High Magic also grants you access to the incredible Coruscation of Finreir, which allows you to summon forth a new Arcane Fulcrum should you so desire!
The Spells of the Little Waaagh! are great for causing mischief in the ranks of your enemy's army, with Nikkit! Nikkit! not only able to cause a great deal of damage to an enemy character, but also to nick a magic item from their grasp when they're not looking. The Great Green Spite on the other hand can turn a devastating charge into an unstoppable one, causing all attacks made against every enemy within 24" to automatically hit. And Attacks is something Orcs & Goblins are rarely short of.
The Spells of the Great Waaagh!, on the other hand, are far more to the point. Take Wallopin' Great Krunch, which is a souped up version of Foot of Gork, causing a Strength 9 hit with Multiple Wounds (D3). Great for squashing enemy monsters as though they were bugs.
Perhaps the finest - if subtlest - of these is the Return of the Golden Age, a Cataclysm spell from the Lore of Nehekhara that restores the entire army to the might and vigour of life. This grants every friendly Tomb Kings unit a bonus to its Weapon Skill, Strength and Initiative and makes their already-deadly Lords into killing machines.
Vampires have access to the Lore of Vampires, which provides a couple of nifty spells (including the Army of Doom Keep, which summons a unit of Grave Guard led by a Wight King).
The Chaos Lores are particularly potent, with spells such as Grandfather Nurgle's Circle of Life (which causes 5D6 hits that wound on a 4+ with no save allowed and summons a Daemon Prince if it causes at least 10 wounds) or Song of Seduction (which allows you to control an enemy unit).
Perhaps the most powerful of the spells available to the Wood Elves can be found in the Lore of Life, whose potent magicks can bring entire units back to life with Verdant Apotheosis.
