here is the basic concept I cam up as a color scheme:
The Armor should be black. Should be smooth, and slightly reflective, but not overly so (non glossy). The highlighting should be as subtle as possible. Extreme highlights may be used but if so, it would be preferable if they aren?t too extreme. It would be cool it the black had a slight grayish tint, so that it doesn?t look too dark and gives it some character/ vividness. The look I?m going for is as if it was made from some futuristic synthetic material like plas-steel or something. It?s a bit hard to explain.
For the red areas of the armor, I would like a bright (but not overly so) hue of red. It would look good if there are slightly orange like highlighting/ tint to it, not overly apparent on the surface itself but more vibrant on extreme edges. I?m not sure which panels will be red, maybe just like some of the shoulder pads and a few odd plates of armor.
As for the metal details(mask, banding, armor detail, ect?) I would like a gold color. NMM would be preferable. It would be cool if at the dark shades were a deeper more brownish gold, and a much more lighter and duller hue on the highlights so that the dark and the light areas reflect well. it would be nice if it was high contrast. Please pay extra care on this part, especially the mask(as the mask is the most important part of the model.)
The horns can be any standard horn color. Preferably a very dark brown/ with slightly lighter highlights. This part really does not matter much.
The dark blade (glaive): I would like if the dark blade to be jet black. Some kind of antimatter of some kind. Also, some crazy glowing runes on the blade would be sweet.
As for skin, I?m not too sure, probably a reddish color, demonic or something. I?m not sure. If I remember the fluff correctly, I believe that when a chaos marine is first inducted and receives the genetic enhancements, the process leaves him skinless and he has to have skin grated onto him. However, this may not be the case with the guy I am basing the lord on, since it is rumored he has been around since the heresy.
