"The Victory Day"
"The Victory Day"
Informacja nt turnieju w Moskwie - oddaje "glos" Stepanowi:
Dear Polish players, we cordialy invite you to take part in a major Russian Tournament "The Victory Day", in Moscow!
It will take place on 17-18 of May
It will run both in 40K and FB.
The format is an element of a trademark for our Tournament:
It is pair-play! Let us take 40K, as an example:
You and your trusted comrade form a team (pair) where each player supplies a 1000 pts of an army to form a 2000 pts force as a whole.
There are certain constraints to the choice of units in this, but on the whole - a wonderful opportunity for colourful and unlikely alliances
Throughout the Tournament you will face correspondig teams (pairs) of opponents. So that each side fields 2000 pts for an overall 4000 pts battle.
Roughtly the same system works in FB.
Participation is free for any guests from outside Moscow (you are included ). I underline - there is no entry fee or a ticket price!
Accomodation is provided by your fellow players and is absolutely free! Unless you object to sharing an appartment with a fellow WH-player of course.
It is also a unique chance to get to know Russia better
If any of you Polish Champions is interested, we will make a complete translation of Tournament Rules to English for you! They are normally in Russian.
All of the participans are able to communicate in English so you will feel yourself quite welcome.
And we also have a traditional Evening Entertainment
I am more than eager to answer any arising questions right on this board of forums.

Greetings!
I am ready to answer all and any questions here. But please - post in English. My Polish is far from good
What i forgot to mention is that our Tournament has cool prizes and Diplomas and Cups.
The prize to the "Overall Winner" is about 40 GBP in GW models + Winners Cup (signed) + Diploma. The "Best Commander" is entitled to 20 GBP in GW models + Diploma.
It is all possible due to the particular way our wargaming society is organized
For example we have a free Tournament Hall (no rent) and etc.
I'll try to post some fotos from our tournament hall, and from the Evening Entertainment!

It is from an Apocalypsis Presentation.

1) Sadly, the 22-25 is a usual time for our students to start examination sessions. Most of native players would object
2) Sure there are composition rules, otherwise it would be complete alliance-madness.
Though we have witnessed 12 Obliterators per Force. They never got close to winning
3) To add a final flavour - is your Polish team plans to come, we would meet you right at the Train Station and guide your through the city to the hall, the sights, or anywhere you like!

As for the expenses:
Your chief expense will be tickets. It is about 100 GBP as absolute maximum with complete comfort for tickets both there and back again.
+ Russian visa (no idea
), but Polish Visa is about 7 GBP.
That would be all (free entry and accomodation
) + food and drinks through the expedition.
If you go to the Supermarket or a Foodstore in Moscow you can have a days worth of food and drinks (no alcohol) for about 5 GBP.
If you choose to always eat in a cafe (not a class restaurant) it would be about 15 GBP (no alcohol again) for three (!) absolutely groovy and sufficient meals. Could be less actualy.
As for alcohol, i do not know
I am not a drinker myself, do not smoke also.

We do not have the complete rules yet. They will be ready before april. We will instantly translate them for you.
Right at the next weekend we have another Grand Tournament "Winter Assault", which is kind of consuming attention for now.
In case you wonder we have three traditional Grand Tournaments in a year.
Febrary-March - "Winter Assault", single player, 2000 pts. in 40K, 2250 in FB.
May - "The Victory Day", team-pairs for 2000 pts.
December - "Brothers in Arms", teams of 3 to 4 players (like the European Team Championship)
And also a lot of smaller regular events of course.
All of the GT share the same approach to accomodation, and entry fees, and prizes.
Feel free to test your skills!

Absolutely: even be it thursday, friday and saturday! By fans for fans, there is no problem.
However, if your are numerous enough, it might be more than a single appartment that you will be sharing.
I will add details on the tournament requirements soon.

Another question from me - is this a purely WHFB forum?
It would also be nice to see your 40K commanders! I am one myself.
On the whole there is a STRONG lean towards 40K in Russia. Moscow in particuler. Though our FB school is far from weak too

Yes, this forum is WFB only but there is always Gloria Victis, a Wh40k forum http://www.wh40k.pl/index.php?name=Foru ... forum&f=27 (= (the link is for the tournament section if I did everything right)

Thanks a lot!
I'll go there and invite a WH40K team too!
All our invitations stand firm here.

This one sounds great! Now if I could only decide whether to go for WFB or 40k...
Stepan, will the new Daemons (both wfb and 40k) be allowed?
Glad You gave info on Gloria Victis, we're a pair of pretty tightly cooperating forums

The Victory Day is a Russian National feast, is this a celebration of the end of WW II ?

1) We'll see about the Demons soon - as the Rules Pack is being completed.
2) Yes. It is a national holiday, celebrated on the 9-th of May.
Our Tournament is one more commemoration.
For it is (as the great song goes):
"Joy with tears in your eyes
Holiday with whiteness on you temples".
The holiday symbolizes a monumental sacrifice.
But let us speak no more of it in this topic. We can tell you everything as you come
