UKGT heat results

9th: Craig Namvar- Dwarfs
10th: Alex West- Bretonnians

There were some sick, sick armies there over the weekend. To give an idea of the top 10, Andy Isherwood and Ches were using identical armies, featuring Mr Balthazar Gelt. Pawel had 2 Treemen- not as soft as I thought (also won Best Army), Jan had lots of magic and cavalry (and will hopefully be writing a report for us), Stefano had 9 lances of Knights plus some Peg knights, Fabrizio and Craig both had Thorek, Will and myself had virtually identical 4th Gen Slann armies, while Alex had a Bret RAF.

I won 4 games against very sporting opponents (commiserations to Rabbit, who had to play 3 Lizardmen armies on the Sunday), and drew two really fantastic, nail-biting games which is mainly why I still turn up. My favourite game of the weekend undoubtedly was against Craig's horrible Thorek list, which was right down to the wire.

Mean armies, nice people. Better than the other way round, I'm sure.

No cóż, musiał jakoś radzić sobie z takimi armiami....

It was quite a long shot, but a few weeks ago I emailed the UK events team and some of the chaps in the design studio to ask whether I could use a variant Empire army list that I have come up with (like some of those that used to be in the back of old-style army books) in the UK GT Heat 1 this weekend. I thought the unit selections might have been a bit too extreme (what with Steam Tanks being Core choices for example- all about the theme of the army of course), but to my suprise the response came back positive- they all think it's a great army design I've come up with, I'm 100% ok to use it at the event and have the email from the Design Studio to prove it.

So, my army for Heat 1 tomorrow, based on the forthcoming book Warhammer Armies: Empire Panzerkompanie, will be the following:



I've packed a few scrolls onto the Wizards for a little magical defense, and am pretty confident as long as there's not too much terrain. Hope to see some of you there.
